    fmf aof ignition

i have a 2000 yz125 and have a uni filter, delta 2 v-force reed valve, and are looking into getting a fmf ignition, i was wondering if any one has had past expierience with the ignition and did it help or not? is it worth the money? here is what fmf has to say:
Top riders know that getting the best power delivery is the key to championship winning performance. An FMF AOF (Adjust On the Fly) Power Ignition System gives you the racers edge. The AOF Power System is the most advanced two stage ignition available on the market. Through extensive track and dyno testing on motocross and enduro machines, FMF was able to produce the most performance enhancing ignition in the world.
It makes for better throttle response, quicker acceleration, along with an increase in peak rpm performance. Designed to suit a large range of motocross, enduro, 4 stroke and two stroke engines, the FMF AOF Ignition gives instant plug-in performance by replacing the standard CDI and delivering maximum spark energy combined with optimum ignition timing. Each CDI is pre-mapped with two power improving ignition curves. The bar-mounted switch lets you swap between the pre-programmed Torque setting (smooth and tractable power delivery, stronger bottom end) and the Boost setting, which that creates an explosive performance increase that pulls harder and longer than stock. You can switch between modes without pulling off the track or shutting off the motor.
Boost can be used during the start of the race and you can switch into the Torque Mode to conserve energy and thus reducing the chance of fatigue. The Torque Mode can also be used when conditions are slick or muddy for smoother power delivery for optimum traction. When soil conditions improve, just hit the switch to rip it up in the Boost Mode. With the use of the FMF AOF Power System riders are no longer stuck on one engine setup. The AOF Power Ignition System has options for multiple maps, and can be reprogrammed to suit any engine or riding changes required with the state of the art FMF AOF Power System Programmer or PC computer with FMF's AOF Power Management Software. Engine tuners will love the AOF Power System Programmer which uses high resolution graphics display to allow easy and accurate programming of the CDI itself. Every adjustable function can be set using the AOF Power Ignition System Programmer, allowing you to optimize the AOF Power System for any engine, intake and exhaust configuration.

Forget the FMF ignition! They're not going to make it any more. That's why you see it advertised for $99 in Cycle News.
See if you can get one from Vortex. Unlike the AOF, the Vortex has 8 maps instead of 6 which will give you even better response.
    Check it out.

Save your money and buy a pipe or have your suspension done.

    FMF dosen't even make them.

If you were into highly modified motors and had the software to do your own maps they would be worth it. On stock motors the OE programs are hard to beat.

The guy who makes the AOF told me about the '01 CR250, " I really couldn't find a map that worked better than the stock map. Honda really did their home work."

Well, here's my 2 cents worth again. I'm currently running a Vortex ignition on my WR250. Can you say night and day??? In the case of the new little four-banger from yamaha (and i'm sure to get much back up on this one) FORGET the pipe! Go for the Vortex! It's the most power you can bolt on. If your riding includes more than one type of power it more than pays for itself.

Motorhead is right......in one case....it does absolutely nothing for the Hondas. But Yamaha's ignitions leave plenty of room for improvement considering they only use 6 of the 8 map capability of there digital ignitions.

Tim Ferry and at least one other rider are using the Vortex on their bikes for '02. It's a cost worthy addition if you ride different types of terrain. I can't verify how well it would work on a 125 MX'er but I can tell you it sure does wonders for a four stroke!

Call MT Racing (909)-353-1253 and ask Mike Tolle to give you a comparison chart of stock vs. Vortex and you just may be suprised! If you are only going to MX than no, it's not worth the money. Go for a pipe instead and tune it for that. but if you have any intensions of a few different venues than check it out.
That's all I have to say about that.

actually the honda ignitions are MORE worthless than the yamaha.
just ask Mike LaRocco. he's had a vortex on his CR all year long.
the worst is the one on the CR80.
you can now by the old fmf ignition directly from wolf autoracing who let
    fmf repackage it all along.
there is only 1 rider who has used the fmf cdi and they changed it every race.
