| Need to lower your KTM or Husaberg easily without limiting shock travel internaly? Here is the easy alternative to sending your shock out for modifications. Well, it is easy, but you have to be comfortable removing materiel from your swing arm boss. The X-Bushing is excentric bushing that sits inside an anodized aluminum sleeve. the position you set it in determines the offset of the bolt hole. |
|
You can lower your bike up to 7/8" depending on position of the sleeve, which in effect lowers the shock and slightly changes the angle. doing this will allow the shock clevis to come into contact with the swing arm boss, so materiel must be removed from the boss, or shock clevis. We prefer the boss. There is plenty of materiel there to remove, and you only need to remove ~2mm to get the clearance you need.

The newly redesigned x bushing has seals built it to accomodate the new bolt Synergy offers which is hollow and has a grease fitting, making greasing the bolt/bushing a non-issue.
Cost for the bushing and bolt is ~ $100....about the same as having your shock modified, but the advantages are that you don't have to send your shock out, and it is completely reversible within minutes.
Some might find the need to go up 1 spring rate to accomadate the new shock angle, however for us it seemed fine, and I think the shock actually worked better with the increased leverage.
From Synergy Seals website: Synergy Seals introduces the NEW X-Bushing. The X-Bushing is an adjustable bushing for KTM's to raise or lower the rear end three different positions, 1/4", 3/8", 7/8". Adjustability is easy and quick, and maintenance is just as easy. Our Z-Bolt is highly recommended since the OEM bolt will not lubricate the X-Bushing correctly. It comes with custom bushings that do not rust and that aquire higher dynamic loads than needle roller bearings. And it comes with one custom seal on each side to prevent the enviroment from entering the working area. It is used on 1999 to 2009 KTM offroad PDS suspension only. It has full adjustabilty with 2002 and older bikes with minimum modifications. It has full adjustabilty with 2003 and newer bikes with modifications to the shock and the swing arm. These modifications are not noticable once they are complete. IMPORTANT! THE X-BUSHING DOES REQUIRE MODIFICATION TO THE SWINGARM. 2002 AND OLDER REQUIRE DRILLING AND TAPPING ONE HOLE AND SHOCK CLEVIS MODIFICATION. 2003 AND NEWER REQUIRES MATERIAL REMOVAL IN BETWEEN THE SHOCK BODY AND SWINGARM BUSHING PROTRUSION AND ON THE SWINGARM PROTRUSION RADIUS. DRILLING AND TAPPING OF ONE HOLE FOR BUSHING LOCKDOWN IS ALSO REQUIRED. The rider can raise and lower the rear suspension without having to modify the shock internals with spacers. Pieces include, sleeve, and 1 offset bushing with NEW custom bushings pre-installed and one custom seal on each side. RESULTS: You will find better all around performance in downhills, whoops and lower centre of gravity. The X-Bushing changes the angle of the shock which enables the shock become progressive sooner in the stroke. We have reports of the bike to soak through the stroke smoother and move the mid-hit dampening up a little farther. Also, overall handling and turning is improved....this is good. Please call us for any other questions regarding the new X-Bushing. Besure to get our new Z-Bolt with a Zerk fitting. Greasing you X-Bushing just got easier! Synergy Seals LLC
