I am considering an enclosed trailer purchase. V nose trailers typically cost 30% more that flat nose. I realize that the fuel mileage will be better and you will gain room but is it worth the price difference for someone who uses it tops 10 times a year?

I'm curious as to the responses here too. I've got a square nose 6x10 now and was considering a "Nose Cone" for it (to help aerodynamics, similar to the V nose), but they too are quite costly. I use mine alot, but rarely more than 1 hour trips. Seems to me that the fuel savings would have to be considerable to make up the "price of admission".

Well let me where in the heck you get 30% more? I just bought a 2004 Haulmark 13' V-Nose for 3600 with tax/title/tags/and a spare tire. Now I was told that I could get the same thing without the white interior walls (just plain wood) for $3000 plus tax/title/tags. A flatnose was a little less then $3000.But with what I have now I can hose out my trailer and I am gonna build shelves up front and down the sides to carry parts and other equipment. A friend of mine used the V Nose as a sort of couch. The put some shelves up top and made a couch/bed for the bottom and it works great. The only thing I wish I would have done with mine was get an RV door. I will tell you that you will notice a difference in your trucks pulling ability when driving into the wind especially. I think it is worth it but something you might ask the trailer place is if they will let you pull one up the highway and back of each type and see what you think. But if you go on longer trips you will notice a difference in your fuel.

Agreed. I don't believe that the V-nose carries a 30% price premium. I also believe that it is a worthwhile option. The 10% or so improvement in fuel economy is a bonus, but the real reason for getting it is the extra storage space. Check below to see the shelves I built for my 6x12 v-nose from Classic.

I love my Vnose Carmate trailer. Also, when you are backing with a Vnose you have more room before you hit the trailer. You can really jack-knife it into places you couldn't with a flat front trailer. To see what I've done with mine,,,,go to Ted's Trailer Page (http://www.crazyted.us/trailer.html)

Every place I have spoken too has quoted me 5k for a v nose and 3-3500 for a flat nose. Same size etc. I live in North NJ if anyone knows where I can get a 7-12 or a 7-14 for about 3 I will buy it.

hevster mine is a Haulmark which is one of the Top Line brands out there. It is only a 6x13 but the price does jump a good bit when you go to the 7 foot wide trailers.
Go to haulmarks site and see what it says. Also shop around outlying area's. You are in jersey and it isnt the cheapest place on earth.

Wow... those are some very nice trailers! The 6x13 v-nose weighs about 450lbs (30%) less than my 6x12 steel-framed v-nose (made by Classic). Really like the radiused side door too.

They have LED tail lights, loading spot lights in the brake light over the ramp door, 3/8 plywood to the cieling, no rivets in the side panels, 15 year warranty on the floor and 5 year on the rest, and an options list that doesn't quit. E mail for an option list or quote. I just ordered a 7 x 19 V nose like on the web page. I had a full white interior put in it. They have the rubber floor mat like in the big rig race haulers. I had that put in. I had E track ran down both walls so the bikes could go in at a 45. A friend of mine has a 7 x 14 and fits 6 bikes at a 45 with out any contact.

Definitely a top-of-the-line trailer, but I'd have to check out prices.
I paid $3,000 out the door for a 6x12 v-nose, steel frame, single axle, barn doors, RV side door, ATP on v-nose.
