I tell you what I did. I went and eyeballed the trailers at races and dealers and basically copied how they were made. My neighbor is a welder so that helped. This is for a 6 x 10 utility trailer. I took some 2 x 3 x 1/4 angle iron and made my frame perimeter. a 3 inch x 6 foot tongue tube. 1.5 x 1.5 angle iron for my cross members and 18" stakes plus top rail. I mounted a 5'x 24" truck tool box on the front. I made a cool ass wheel chock out left over 1.5 x 1.5 angle iron and some 3" channel iron. I was going to put a drop down gate but I just used some 2" channel iron with a 2 x 12 plank for a ramp/rear rail thingy. I used a 2" x 1/4 square tube for my axle and bought the hubs, wheels, tires, plus spare, leaf springs from a junk yard for $80 total. Light kit from Pep Boys for $30. Bulldog type hitch for $50. Used 3/4 treated plywood for the floor. I painted it black and added a swing away jack ($50) and safety chains. Looks just like the ones they sell for $800 and I figure I spent about $300 in materials and about 10 hours of labor. It was fun building it. I got to customize it the way I wanted it. I also made some little storage areas on the front that holds my fuel cans, 5 gal water jug. I have a 5' x 24 plastic locking storage box mounted in the bed on the left side and 1 bike goes right in the middle all the way to the front and one goes on the right side about 18" from the front. Trailer works great and pulls good. It is light too.Tool box for oil and tools and crap, plastic box for riding/camping gear. I never have to unload most of the stuff. Hope this helps.

I bought a trailer kit from Norther Tools. Can be seen at www.northerntools.com . After buying wood for a deck and a few other small items I think I spent around $300. It's kinda like the one that you've been informed of for sale on the VCHSS board. Really easy to build and works great. You can go to the northern sight and maybe get some ideas....
