Well, I received an awesome Christmas gift this year. A fifteen foot enclosed trailer. It has the pointed front so it's like a twelve foot trailer with a three foot triangle front. I'm now trying to figure out how I want to set it up. I need pictures of what you guys have. I've read all the old posts and have been surfing the net and getting lots of ideas. My main concern is the floor. I wanted to install a the mat material that Sam's Club sells but it is $118.00. So far I haven't been impressed with the amount of preperation needed to properly paint the floor with an epoxy garage floor paint. I don't like the way the cheap floor tiles look after a little use/abuse and don't want the weight of the good commercial tiles. I've made the rounds of the local home improvement and the WalMart/Target stores for selving ideas. So far I've decided on the rack on the side door to hold my spray cans, a paper towel holder I made with a dowel rod, and some sort of shelves in the V-front to hold my gear. I'll leave the area under the shelf open for my tool boxes. I'm also probably going to off-set the bike to one side a little. I'll be installing something to hold my fuel cans and water jugs on the other side of the trailer. I already have a Rubbermaid type bench that I also plan to install on that side.
Does anyone have any experience using a deep cycle battery to power accessories in a trailer? Any ideas would be great...

Ted,
Check out Jeg's they offer alot of aluminum racks and shelves some are designed to hold oil bottles, spray cans and theirs one to hold your helmet.
E Track on the floor and possibly the walls. I installed it on the floor of my new trailer and it is great. Versatility to mount bikes or anything where ever you like. I used truck bed liner coating on the floor, the "roll on yourself" type, and it works great. Fairly anti-slip and should be very durable. Your right the tiles, I have seen don't last long.
How many bikes you plan on carrying? Mounting bikes diagnal makes for much more room and you only need vertical angle iron or similar on the wall to hold wheels. If you really want to save room, mount the bike so the front wheel is in the front corner of the box with the bars cut full lock and pull the rear parallel to the wall. This tucks them in very close. I can fit 4 bikes this way easy in my 6x10 with an aisle to walk up the middle.

I set my 7' x 16' V-nose trailer up to haul four bikes, & sleep in if needed. If you would like photos I could send them to you.
I'd like to see the photos!
Thanks

Most definelty want to see all pictures of trailer set-ups. I'm only bringin one bike and will probably set it up on the right side, back of the trailer. I'll offset the weight with other stuff I plan to take along. We'll be sleeping towards the front of the trailer. I haven't found the roll-on type floor covering yet, only the garage floor epoxy paint which says for concrete only. Still thinking about the mat.

Ted, You could check out your local napa, most sell several roll on or spray on bedliners. I've used herculiner and duplicolor, both are ok, if you can get it by the gallon there is a spray gun used for old style undercoating. The guns usually sell for 10-15 bucks and do a great job, much better than rolling it on.
As far as power check out some of the rv sites, the pop-up owners do more of thier own work and modifiying. Its best to use 2 6volt(105 or 145, 145 better) golf cart batteries wired for 12volts they will have a much greater reserve capacity. This should be enough to power a 3 day weekend. Check rv supply stores for lights etc that run on 12 volts with low draw. The local trailer shop near me has the d ring style tracks, like the u-haul vans, and have a wheelchock that clips int this track so you can mount the bike anywhere, or multiple bikes when needed.
Good luck and post pictures when your done,

Here's the update on my progress so far. I ended up purchasing the mat material from Sam's Wholesale Club. The material is designed as a garage floor mat for under an automobile. I have a bunch of unused electrical conduit laying around so I used some of that to make a paper towel rack and a tie-down rack. I've added a bench to sit on. I also purchased the mounting kit for a Pingel wheel chock and used it to install my ATK bike shoe that I used on my open trailer. I also purchased the Ancra removable tie-down rings. The bike shoe can be used alone but I just prefer a well tied down bike. I've posted a few pics on the net and you can go to My Trailer Page (http://crazyted.tripod.com/trailer.html) to view them. I posted them to my webpage. The trailer stickers are finally rolling in from my sponsors. I'm still trying to design my stickers for the side that say CrazyTed's Racing. I've been in contact with one of my sponsors, Creative Grafix (http://www.creativegrafix.net) to try and figure something out. Oh well....let me know what you think so far....

Ted, I've had good luck using a power inverter that plugs into the cigarette lighter of my truck. It can power small stuff like a light , fan, tv, elec. heater, hot plate, ect. It also has an alarm that lets me know the battery in my truck is getting low, I can just crank the truck and let it recharge. It was about $50. Those folks at Creative Grafix are great! See ya at Chestnut Mnt.

Sorry, had an arguement with Tripod and they deleted everything.
I've done some improvements since the last time I updated the page. I installed a corner cabinet in the front from Home Depot. I'm in the process of installing some more stuff. Maybe on my next set of days off I'll take some more pics....
Here's the new page location.

Ted, have you thought about installing a shower? I have heard of a guy using PVC hung from the ceiling (running the full length around the trailer) to hold the water, then running a spigut to the outside of the trailer, and then using a temporary setup on the outside to hold a curtain. Should be easy and cheap to do. Sure would be nice to have a shower after those real dusty races.

I've borrowed someones portable shower before and it was nice. It was one of the bag type that you leave in the sun and it warms up. You just put it ontop of your trailer and open the valve. It worked pretty good and I'll probably get one sometime this year. They are only like $10 so it's not too bad. Saving money for tires before the first race now though. Seems it should be pretty sloppy and fresh meat would really be good to keep up with all you fast guys.

I've been receiving a lot of requests for clarification on my mounting of my bike shoe. I've now added a close-up view of my setup on it's own page. You can follow the link from the trailer page or go directly to it.
