Has anyone here built a shower or bathroom in their enclosed trailer? Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

Something similiar is being advertised around here , normal enclosed trailer with camping quarters in the front.

www.trailerworld.com I think was advertising something like it.

Well first off how big is your trailer? Do you have beds in it or is it open from front to back? You will need to look for water tanks that will hold enough water for you to shower for how ever many showers you will need. You might also need a tank for waste water! If you put a toilet in you will defenately need one for that! You will also need a way to drain and fill the tanks. Dont for get the plumbing! You will need to figure out how to get the water up through the shower. Your best bet might be a little portable potty and one of those shower bags that gets heated by the sun. Dont know just a suggestion if it comes down to that!

I have a 7' X 16' trailer and I'm thinking of sectioning off the front 4' of the trailer for a bathroom but I'm worried about the flex of the trailer while traveling down the road. I'll probably use a porta potty so I wont need a black water tank but I will need a gray water tank hopefully mounted under the trailer. I already have a 35 gal. plastic drum to carry fresh water. I've found a 32" X 32" shower stall and I need to check on a RV type water heater and pump. I'm just worried about the wall and I need to find someone to build me a gray water tank. Bunk beds may come later but a tent is fine with us. Trying to make things a little more comfortable for my girlfriend and can't afford $12G for a Tailgator type RV.

The trailer are very sturdy but the one thing you can do is if you know that there will be a place to fill up your tanks before you get to the race or the campground is to wait to fill them up when you are closer to your destination. Putting in a water system after a trailer is built can be tricky but it can be done. Sit down and do drawings and see which one give you the best area to work with. Let me know what you come up with. I might see if I can get on my cad program and draw something up.

Check out www.campingworld.com when you start into your greywater tank. They can get you about any demension tank you need so that you can fit it under your trailer. You don't want one that hangs below your frame very much...

One suggestion. Make sure you check your weight balance. Sectioning 4 feet off the front puts the bikes or quads farther back and possibly behind the axle. Then add in the shower and the water (at 8 lbls per gallon). What you don't want is a trailer that is tail weighted. Unless you have sway control and trailer brakes a tail weighted trailer can really start to sway and then whip and then push you right off the road.
